He has seen massacre and pain and torture and so many weird ways people can die that he’s honestly surprised he doesn’t know even weirder ways of saying farewell to consciouness. Though, he must comment on how the early rituals consisted in trying to keep the dead from coming back, which, even in his very early days taking care of the dead, was confusing to think of.Īs the complexity of causes of death grew, he saw himself almost forced to take in a physical form, he hadn’t had one specific since the beginning, he hadn’t felt the necessity of it, even if he did have fun seeing the different ways authors and artists represented him.īut he’s seen wars. So many rituals as the years went, and all the ongoing changes on how they treat it. Watched as the rituals to care for the dead became more intrinsic to humans specially.įirst burying the bodies, putting rocks on the parts where would be the face and head, painting the skeleton in what appeared to be red ink after disposing food and weaponry along the body. He grew into various forms as the thousand upon thousand of years passed by, having different appearances to different people. Such dramatics for just a normal part of existence, in his opinion. Most interpretations were simple, he was just the villain that came to take and take without remorse. Stories where he was just a skeleton in a black cloak, a being that took the souls of the dead and brought them to a specific place. People’s interpretation of his embodied concept was fun to witness. He had followed the death of stars, the death of plants that do not exist anymore, of animals that have been extinct way before any human-looking creature stood ground on the blue and green planet. Which made it more fun to watch how they’d see him in their own way. He grew along with the beings that followed, death isn’t just a simple thing for humans as they started to devolve extreme complex thinking. Just the thing that would take over when something was meant to end. He was a shadow, a sound, a failing organ, but never physical in any way. He was the rot and weakness that fell upon it and took over it’s existence itself. He wasn’t the being that picked it up and turned it to dust so it would stop existing as it was, no. A plant, that wasn’t really a plant as they know it today. He has existed since the first being died.
